Working with children with cancer continually reminds me of their extraordinary resilience and courage throughout their treatment journey.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The support from the VIVA\u2013Goh Foundation Grant enabled me to complete my Master of Nursing at the Alice Lee School of Nursing Studies, NUS. This training equipped me to serve as a paediatric Advanced Practice Nurse and now, as Assistant Director of Nursing, to further strengthen the quality of care and mentorship within our paediatric oncology nursing team.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Ms Laura Tan plays a key role in advancing paediatric oncology nursing education and training at the VIVA\u2013University Children\u2019s Cancer Centre, National University Hospital. She leads initiatives that strengthen nursing capabilities across Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on developing and mentoring nurses who care for children with cancer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Through her collaboration with VIVA, St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital, and KK Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s Hospital, she helps lead the St. Jude Asia Pacific Nursing Institute, which provides regional training to improve the quality and continuity of care for young patients and their families.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Sister Anh has been practising nursing for over 19 years and is a certified Advanced Practice Nurse in the Department of Paediatric Haematology Oncology. With an extensive background in oncology nursing, she further advanced her training in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant and Cell Therapy in 2019, earning EBMT certification.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

She provides inpatient and outpatient care for oncology, haematology, and immunology patients undergoing stem cell transplant and cell therapy, working closely with transplant physicians, medical oncologists, and a dedicated team of nurses to ensure consistent, high-quality care. She also contributes to the development of the KKH Transplant Nursing Course and supports regional training through oncology and transplant outreach programmes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Sister Anh is an active member of the Singapore Nursing Association, Singapore Paediatric Oncology Group, and SIOP. She\u00a0participates\u00a0in Advanced Practice Nurse education, serves as a preceptor for APN students, and is part of the Ministry of Health workgroup overseeing the new APN internship programme in Singapore. She recently took on an\u00a0additional\u00a0role as Institutional Global Nursing Lead under SDGHI.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Ms Cing Khan Lian has passion for paediatrics\u00a0<\/span>Hemato<\/span>-Oncology. As a patient herself once, she can sympathize chemotherapy side effects or treatment related side effects each individual child faced. Cancer involved everyone, parents,\u00a0<\/span>siblings<\/span> and even extended families. She believes excellent nursing care is crucial for paediatric oncology children. Ms Nur Farahin Mohamed Zakaria has been a paediatric nurse for more than 10 years, specialising in the care of children with cancer. Having completed her Master of Nursing at the National University of Singapore, she now practises as an Advanced Practice Nurse in oncology. Her main area of\u00a0<\/span>interest lies in the late effects and survivorship of paediatric oncology patients.<\/span><\/span><\/p>
