VIVA Academia Programme for Cancer Survivors

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Surviving cancer should mark a child’s return to life—not the beginning of another uphill battle. Yet today, 4 in 10 childhood cancer survivors struggle to reintegrate into school after treatment.

Our one-year Academic Support and One-on-One Personal Coaching Programme is purposefully designed for primary and secondary school childhood cancer survivors who face financial challenges after treatment.

Offered entirely free of charge, the programme removes cost barriers while providing:

  • Structured academic support tailored to each child’s learning gaps
  • Individualised coaching to rebuild confidence and motivation
  • A supportive peer environment that encourages connection, sharing, and mutual encouragement

Beyond academic recovery, the programme focuses on restoring a sense of normalcy, self-belief, and social belonging—critical foundations for long-term reintegration.

Feedback showed that seven in ten children and youths emerge more confident in their studies, with many demonstrating measurable improvements in school performance after the programme. More importantly, they begin to see themselves not as “children left behind by illness,” but as capable learners with a future.

Your support will provide targeted academic support and one-on-one coaching to childhood cancer survivors, enabling them to rebuild confidence, strengthen comprehension, and develop effective learning strategies—and ultimately return to school with improved academic performance and renewed belief in their own potential.
