St Jude Children's Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the largest and the only U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated childhood cancer center in the United States. The first successful cure for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia came from St. Jude, and currently their cure rate for ALL is almost 90%. As a charity hospital, one of St. Jude’s missions is to help improve the cure for childhood cancer worldwide through its International Outreach Program.
Together with the VIVA Foundation, St. Jude hopes to develop Singapore not only as a world-class center for the treatment of childhood cancers and the training of paediatric oncologists in Asia and beyond, but also as a coordinating center for research in childhood cancer in Asia. The St. Jude–VIVA Forum in Paediatric Oncology, held annually, represents such an effort to bring the Asian groups together under one roof.
