Healthy Mouth Happy Smiles by Dr Sim Chien Joo Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and its management can cause acute and chronic oral side effects. Severe cases may necessitate supportive therapy negatively impacting quality of life, delaying the delivery of treatment, and increasing hospitalization costs.
Oral complications can arise at any stage of anti-neoplastic treatment, thus the importance of minimizing their occurrence as well as identifying and managing them before, during and after treatment. This lecture provides a practical, evidence-based framework for managing these oral problems through coordinated care.
