Screening new antibody constructs for paediatric solid tumours

Antibody therapies direct the immune system to recognise and attack cancer cells, and they have become one of the most promising treatment strategies in paediatric oncology. Yet for children with solid tumours such as neuroblastoma, the antibodies available today remain limited in how effectively and safely they work, leaving a clear need for better ones.
This project develops and screens new antibody constructs designed to target paediatric solid tumours. Using the laboratory’s functional assays, we measure how well each construct engages the immune system to kill tumour cells and identify the strongest candidates for further development. Through this work, we aim to bring forward more effective and better-tolerated antibody therapies for children with these cancers.
